Nova is one slowly closing vice on your reaction time, dressed in our whole juice stack. Neon rings bloom onto the field, hold a beat, then shrink to nothing; pop one before it vanishes, miss three and you are done. Underneath, a target lives 130 frames at the start, a hair over two seconds, and that window tightens toward a 52-frame floor the longer you last, while the gap between spawns falls from 80 frames to 26. We tuned both dials to squeeze at once rather than dropping a sudden spike on you. It began as the simplest thing we could ship with everything bolted on.

The detail we like best is the perfect window, and it only lives on ordinary targets. Every ring hits full size at 18% of its life; pop a normal one between 15% and 30% and you bank double points plus a white PERFECT flag. Base score is 5 times your combo, the combo caps at x9, and gold targets triple whatever you would have scored, so a gold popped on a maxed streak is 135 points in one tap. Green heal rings hand back a life, or, at the full three, flip to a double-score bonus that most players never even clock. We sweated the fair stuff harder than the flashy stuff: the hit radius never drops below 16 pixels, so a ring shrunk to a dot is still honestly poppable, and whiffing into empty space costs your combo but never a life. The countdown arc bleeding green to red makes triage a reading skill instead of a guess.

The thin spots are real. That perfect double is basically hidden; nothing on screen marks the 15-to-30% band, so players rack up PERFECTs by accident and rarely learn to hunt them, which is a communication miss we own. Spawns are fully random, and the field will now and then hand you two dying rings in opposite corners with no route that saves both, a life lost to geometry rather than reflex. And underneath the bloom and the shake it is a very old idea. Nova is whack-a-mole with a sharp haircut. We think the haircut earns its keep. We are not going to claim the skeleton is new.
