Flux flies on one input, and we never kidded ourselves that the one-button flyer was unsolved territory. The bet was narrower: make the second-to-second feel beat the thing it descends from. One tap sets your vertical speed to -6.4 and gravity drags it back at 0.42 a frame, so altitude is something you feather, never hold. Gates open at a 210px gap and pinch 3px with every pass down to a 132px floor. Scroll speed starts at 3.1 and drifts up to a 6.2 ceiling. The arithmetic is plain on purpose. The tuning is where the time disappeared.

The system that matters is the perfect thread. Clear a gate within 20% of the gap's centre and a streak begins; drift off centre by a hair and it snaps back to zero. Each clean pass pays more than the last, so five in a row is not five points, it is a compounding bonus that dwarfs safe flying. Land the fifth and the field ignites into OVERDRIVE, a hard shove of bloom on top of the trail and gate glow. Quietly, that turns a survival game into a greed game: fly wide and live, or hug the line and get rich. The cruel joke is that the tightest gaps are exactly where the centre band is thinnest and the urge to chase it bites hardest.

Two honest problems. The first is that our best idea is almost a secret. There is no streak counter, no OVERDRIVE flash, nothing that says the score just jumped by six instead of one, so a player who never watches the number will beat the game without ever learning it had a skill layer. The second is that the curve stops rising. Once you can hold a 132px gap at full speed, no fresh pressure arrives, and long runs sink into rote maintenance. The feel is genuinely strong here: the 7-frame hit-stop, the shake, the squash on every pulse all land clean. Feel just cannot manufacture a late game the difficulty math never wrote.

Slip through the exact centre of the gap, though, and you start a THREAD streak that's built to be greedy: the first centred pass adds 1, the next 2, then 3, climbing from there. The centre line glows green when you're lined up, and THREAD ×5 tips the whole field into overdrive.

How do I survive longer and score higher?+

Feather small, frequent taps rather than yo-yoing between the ceiling and floor, since the lift needs a beat to overcome your fall. The pace climbs with your score (3.1 up to a hard cap of 6.2) and the gaps close from 210 pixels to 132, so tap a touch earlier once it quickens and keep hunting that green centre line.

Does Flux cost anything, and is my score stored?+

No cost, no sign-up, and it runs in the browser on a desktop mouse, the space bar, or a thumb on a phone. Your best score is written to that browser's local storage, so it'll be there next time you open the page on the same machine.
